Primos-Secane Westbrook Park Fire Company         

The Primos-Secane-Westbrook Park Fire Company is one of the five fire companies
 that protect the citizens of Upper Darby Township, Pennsylvania. Upper Darby
Township is one of, if not the most heavily populated townships in the country,
with between 80,000 to 100,000 people living and working in seven square miles.
The township borders directly on Philadelphia and has an extremely diverse
population. The Primos-Secane-Westbrook Park Fire Company provides service
to not only the above mentioned areas of Upper Darby,but to all other companies
 in the township on a mutual aide agreement. The mission and pride of the
Primos-Secane-Westbrook Park Fire Company has been and always will be to
provide rapid, efficient protection to the citizens and property in Upper Darby
Township with the most effective and aggressive firefighters found anywhere.

LODD SHARON HILL FIRE COMPANY

The Officers and Members of the Primos-Secane Westbrook Park
Fire Company Station 74 would like to extend our deepest sympathy to the
members of the Sharon Hill Fire Company Station 09.  On Wednesday,
September 26, 2007 Firefighter Michael Reagan made the ultimate sacrifice
while operating on a working fire in the Boro of Sharon Hill.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you Station 09.

S.C.B.A. CONFIDENCE COURSE @ 74


Tonight for our weekly drill, FF Calamia put the crews through the SCBA Confidence Course. Everyone involved in going through the course learned a great deal about
self confidence. Thanks to all who participated in the drill and to all that were
involved with the packing of hose on the new E 74-2. Special thanks to FF Calamia
for taking time to set this drill up and to his wife Nicole for taking the
pictures.

SEARCH AND REACUE DRILL IN 03's LOCAL


Tonight the Tower, Chief, and E 74-2 went to 03's local for training.
The company utilized the vacant property next to Station 03 to run through
various scenarios involving search and rescue, and hoseline advancement.
Thank you to Chief Kneass for allowing us to train in the property, and to
Lt. Cosentino for helping us with the drill.

PITTSBURGH DRILL @ 74 WITH 37


Tonights drill was presented by FF Calamia. The drill was called
the Pittsburgh Drill, and it was named after fallen firefighters from the
City of Pittsburgh.  The drill put firefighters through obstacles that
firefighters in Pittsburgh encountered on a fire.

FINAL INSPECTION OF ENGINE 74-2 COMPLETE

Over the past few days, Captain Mike Fiorito spent his time in Green Bay Wisconsin
at the Segraves Facility completing the final inspection on Engine 74-2.
The truck looks good and should be here within the next week or two.

UL TESTING, FIT TESTING AND TRAINING

Today the Tower had its yearly UL Testing completed in the morning and it passed with
only a few minor issues. For our weekly training this week, Bucks County Instructor Ed Wurstere presented
 Attack and Back-up Lines Review for the crew. All members attending the class enjoyed the presentation.
Tonight the crew also started to complete our annual fit testing requirement.
Fit testing was administered by FF Fusco and FF McArdle.

TOWER 74 BACK IN SERVICE

Tower 74 is back in service after being out of service
 for just over a week due to mechanical problems.

NEW ENGINE 74-2 UPDATE

The new Engine 74-2 should be arriving at Station 74 within the next 2 weeks.
Captain Michael Fiorito will be traveling to Green Bay for the final inspection this week.

DOWN TO 2 ENGINES

With Tower 74 out of service for mechanical issues, Station 74 is down to 2 Engines.
The apparatus room looks bare, but we are still handling the calls. 
The Tower is expected to return to service sometime this week.

RIT GOES EAST

In the early morning hours companies 26 and 37 were dispatched to the 8900 block of West Chester Pike
 for a building fire. Companies arrived to find fire showing from the second floor apartment. Command requested
E74-1 as the RIT. Upon the arrival of E74-1 the crew was put to work and was replaced as the RIT by Ladder 36.

RIT RUN AND A COVER

In the early afternoon today, companies 36 and 37 were dispatched to a dwelling fire on Clover Lane
and the companies arrived to find a working fire. UD11 then requested Company 26, Tower 74 as the RIT,
and Engine 20-3. Engine 74-1 relocated to Station 37 and was dispatched to the Lansdowne Tower
Apartments on Providence Road for an automatic alarm.

NEW RADIOS INSTALLED

With the anticipation of the change over to 500mhz, the mobile radios in Engine 74-1, Tower 74,
and the Chiefs car were installed. The current UDFD F2 is being simulcast over our new channel.
All of our new portable radios are in and labeled and will be placed into service shortly.
