Primos-Secane Westbrook Park Fire Company         

The Primos-Secane-Westbrook Park Fire Company is one of the five fire companies that protect the citizens of Upper Darby Township, Pennsylvania. Upper Darby Township is one of, if not the most, heavily populated townships in the country, with between 80,000 to 100,000 people living and working in seven square miles. The township borders directly on Philadelphia and has an extremely diverse population. The Primos-Secane-Westbrook Park Fire Company provides service to not only the above mentioned areas of Upper Darby,but to all other companies in the township on a mutual aide agreement. The mission and pride of the Primos-Secane-Westbrook Park Fire Company has been and always will be to provide rapid, efficient protection to the citizens and property in Upper Darby Township with the most effective and aggressive firefighters found anywhere.

Building Fire At Planet Fitness

On Tuesday September 15, 2009 Companies 74, 20, 03, 36, RIT 37, M103 were dispatched to 5210 Baltimore Pike for a building fire reported to be an electrical box in the rear of the building. Upon arrival of E 74-2 (Captain Baker) the building was evacuated and there was nothing showing. Upon further investigation the crew found an electrical panel had exploded in the rear mechanical room with medium smoke throughout. An
1 3/4 was stretched and the fire was knocked down by a dry powder extinguisher. Company 03 (Chief Kneass) took the rear and was unable to secure the power due to the size of the service. PECO was notified. Company 03 and E36-2 (Captain Boyce)opened the roof hatch and Company 20 (D/C Morgan) units provided ventilation while RIT 37 (Captain McKinney) stood by. Due to the size of the building the numerous ppv fans that were set up did not provide effective ventilation. Command requested Hovercraft 12 from Eddystone. Upon arrival of Hovercraft 12 the building was ventilated in about 20 minutes. Command was held by UD11 (D/C Hicks) and UD9B (D/C McAfee).
