SOME NEW FACES AT 74
Saturday, January 14, 2006
 
Within the last two months, Company 74 has had several new members join the ranks of the
firefighting crew and one new Company member. Adam Barrett, Joe Hetalo, Matt Griglione and
Micheal Beese were all sworn in to the Company within the past two months as active crew members.
 Katie Coyle was sworn in at the January meeting as a Company member.

NEW COMPANY AND CREW OFFICERS SWORN IN 2006

On Tuesday evening, January 10th, District Justice Kelly Micozzie-Aguirre officially swore in the 2006
 fire company and fire crew officers. Pictured below from left to right are as follows: Lieutenant Mike Fiorito,
 Lieutenant J.R. Shultz, Board of Director Jack Bergin, Captain/Board of Director Kevin Rankin,
Lieutenant/Board of Director John Bera, Company Secretary Joe Thompson Jr., Board of Director Rich Geiger,
 Chairman of the Board of Directors Tom Micozzie, Company Vice President/Board of Director Jim Flanigan
 and Company Treasurer/Board of Director Gary McAfee. Thanks to Judge Micozzie-Aguirre for taking
the time to swear in our officers.

SMALL FIRE IN THE FIRST DUE
 Friday, January 6, 2006
 
On Thursday evening, January 5th, at around 1815 hours Companies 74, 20 (Garrettford-Drexel Hill)
03 (Clifton Heights) and 36 (Cardington-Stonehurst) were dispatched to St. Eugene’s School on
Oak Avenue for a reported building fire. 74-9 (Chief Rankin) and arrived on location and reported a
 fire in the gymnasium. Engine 74-1 arrived on location and went into service with an inch and three
quarter line into the gym and made a quick knock on the fire as other incoming crews provided ventilation.
The fire was held to the ceiling area of the gym and the assignment returned within 30 minutes.
 Department Dep. Chief UD9-B (McAfee) had command. Units on location from 74 were Engine 74-1
 and Tower 74 as first due Engine and Truck.
