BUSINESS AS USUAL
 Sunday, June 11, 2006

This past Saturday proved to be business as usual for the Saturday day and night tours.
Saturday morning Engine 74-1 participated in the Yeadon Boro Flag Day Parade. The officers and
members of station 74 would like to thank the Yeadon Fire Co., the Yeadon Boro Office of Emergency
Management, and the Yeadon Boro Town Watch for inviting us to the parade. Just as the parade was
coming to an end, the Engine was called into the Westbrook Park section of our local to assist the ambulance.
DCMH Medic 103-7B was on location with a pt. on the second floor of a residence with head trauma.
The Engine crew assisted the ambulance crew carry the pt. down the steps to the ambulance. Just as
the night tour was finishing dinner and settling down for the saturday night movie, the tones droped
for a brush fire behind "O" building of the Bishop Hill Apts. Engine 74-1 searched behind the apartments
as well as behind the Putt-Putt Golf and Games and found nothing. The call was determined unfounded,
and the Engine returned. Just as the crew was starting to relax again, the Box Alarm was struck for
426 S. Springfield Rd. , the Willows Apts., in the Boro of Clifton Heights. 03-9A, DePompeo, arrived to find a
three story garden style apartment with light smoke showing from the number three floor, side "A". Engine 74-1
arrived just behind Quint-03, and it’s crews began a primary search of the building. The fire was held
to the oven and the crew from the Engine assisted the crew from Quint 03 with ventilation. The Engine
was in service for just over thirty minutes.
